HopeStreet Signs First Two Artists!

We’ve hit the ground running in 2012, announcing our first two artist signings – the bizarre Bombay Royale and teenage funk sensation The Cactus Channel.

After partnering with Fuse Music Group in 2011, HopeStreet Recordings which hitherto has focused on vinyl formats is stepping up to release debut albums for both artists on CD, LP and digital.  Furthermore, the debut albums from these groups will also be released in Europe and the US through our international partners, Kudos Records and Fat Beats Distribution.

The Bombay Royale’s You Me Bullets Love captures the magic and mayhem of vintage Bollywood with a dizzying blend of haunting Hindi vocals, Tarantino-esque surf guitars, wild disco rhythms and shimmering sitars.  This follows on from their hit 7” Sote Sote Adhi Raat.  This band is so hot, that their demo was used in the credits of South African heist film 31 Reasons.

Meanwhile the kids from The Cactus Channel are finally Legal!  One year after their debut vinyl release turned funk and breaks lovers worldwide on their heads, Australia’s baddest High School band have come of age. Having recorded two 7” singles and their debut album before turning 18, these kids are hungry!  The musicianship, and writing on the new record is superior, the production ruffer and tuffer, and with a full length LP only a few months away, Emanuel Ciccolini/Budokan is just a taste of the badness to come.

For more information or to listen to all the tracks, see the Releases page.
