Emma Donovan featured in new AOL Rise program

This Friday May 15th Emma Donovan will be featured on new morning show AOL Rise, a morning show delivered in 2 minute segments over 4 hours. The program provides news, lifestyle, sport and art in bite size chunks for people to stream to their devices as they start their day. Emma has been selected for the show off the back of her 2014 album with The PutBacks Dawn, released in Australia and the US through HopeStreet Recordings.

The album has seen a uniquely Australian soul voice enter the world stage and has been turning heads abroad as well as at home, with features in Wax Poetics and Okayplayer, the latter writing: “Driven by brutally honest lyricism, irresistible percussion and a purist’s respect for the funk and soul tradition, Emma Donovan & The PutBacks have created a singular project that will command spins and ultimately stand the test of time.” This latest US feature from AOL is another shining example of the calibre of music that Australia is exporting to the world.

Fans can tune in on Friday morning (US time) to rise.aol.com although since the show is broadcast from New York,  Australian audiences will have to wait til the following day.  However as consolation they might get themselves to an Emma Donovan & The PutBacks show, the next being a Queen’s Birthday Eve Winter Spectacular at Howler on Sunday June 7th.  HopeStreet Recordings presents Emma Donovan, Latin jokers San Lazaro, DJ Mike Gurrieri and a very special instrumental set by deep funk aces The PutBacks. Tickets available from Moshtix.
