2016 was a quieter year for us with an LP by San Lazaro, an EP by The Do Yo Thangs and two singles, one by The Meltdown and one by Zillanova, both of which hint at their upcoming 2017 releases. So far, 2017 looks completely packed. We’ll have new music from The Cactus Channel (finally!), The Bombay Royale, Zillanova, The Meltdown, The Do Yo Thangs and even more! But as always thanks for sticking around and supporting our artists this year. As an indie label we’ve learnt a lot.
Have a good Christmas (don’t forget about the annual James Brown tribute night on xmas night @ the curtin), and a funky new year. 2017 will be massive… we can feel it.

Emma Donovan & The PutBacks have been announced to play at the 2016 Byron Bay Bluesfest!!
In 2015 Emma won Best Indigenous Artist & Best Funk/Soul Album at The Age Music Victoria Awards and played a ton of shows. This year her momentum continues with a slot at Bluesfest alongside D’Angelo, Kendrick Lamar, Hiatus Kaiyote and plenty more.
If you’re a Melbournian like me and can’t make it up to Byron (sad, I know), Emma will also play Riverboats Music Festival (February 20th), White Night (February 21st), and Port Fairy Folk Festival (March 11th).

Some of you may have figured this out already, but we have had a long running relationship with production group Blank Tape Music. We’ve been working with them on video productions for a number of our artists including Emma Donovan & The PutBacks, Quarter Street, The Public Opinion Afro Orchestra, The Meltdown, San Lazaro and One Sixth. They’ve put together a killer reel from the past while, and it features a bunch of our artists. Check it out at
