Digger’s Choice Episode #1 – DJ Manchild’s Bollywood Gold

HopeStreet Recordings is proud to present DJ Manchild’s Bollywood Gold.

In 2002 and 2003, Melbourne’s DJ Manchild, record collector, funk aficionado and all round fun guy spent over a year travelling though India searching for the lost gold of 60’s 70’s and 80’s Bollywood records. He returned with four crates of vinyl gleaned from the streets, market stalls and stores of Kolkata, Mumbai and Dehli and many smaller cities in between. Here he presents his favourite twelve records from that journey and the wild and exotic sounds inscribed on them.

DJ Manchild’s Bollywood Gold is released in conjunction with Dj Manchild’s Nonstop Disco Dandia mixtape, 53 minutes of dancefloor destroying Hindi funk and disco from the Golden Years of Bollywood. All original vinyl, all hand dug in India by the man himself. Do yourself a favour and check it out.
