HopeStreet fans, listen up! Studio-based project Zillanova is back in business after a long hiatus.
Zillanova is a studio project led by label-founder and bassist Bob Knob, who has been cooped up in his studio over the past year writing tunes with Joshua Tavares. This summer they’ve put down a few of them in the studio for an EP release later this year.
Zillanova’s first recorded offering was released in 2013 – a split 7″ record featuring Cisco Tavares (Joshua’s brother) on Suicide and Jess Harlen on The Time It Takes . Chelsea Wilson, a fantastic soul singer herself and until this year Music Director at PBS FM says:
“Suicide is a world class 45! The production is melt in your mouth, the guitar sound is perfection and the tracks are earmworm delicious”
Decide for yourself!
Now that there’s a stack of new material in the works, the band has emerged from the recording studio and making their on stage debut. They’ve been holding down a Sunday night residency at The Retreat (280 Sydney rd, Brunswick) with the last show this Sunday.
The band is Joshua Tavares (Gospel Sundays), Bob Knob (San Lazaro, ex-Bombay Royale), Tom Martin (The PutBacks, The Bombay Royale), Matty Vehl (The Bombay Royale) & Jules Goyma (The Bombay Royale, Blue King Brown, The Public Opinion). Expect pure fire.
