Amin Payne adds a future-funk spin on Leisure Centre’s Something Better

Leisure Centre in collaboration with Amin Payne release a brand new remix of “Something Better”, from their 2018 debut album Mind Full. Multi-instrumentalist, producer and remix artist Amin Payne has flipped the slow jam tempo of the original into a bouncing piece of hip-hop inspired future R&B at 100bpm. All the elements of the original track are still there – flipped, clipped and reconstituted into an entirely new piece of music. This comes as Leisure Centre enters the studio to work on their follow up album.

Melbourne R&B slow jammers Leisure Centre released their debut album Mind Full in 2018 and the record sits on a darker and more electronic plane to their previous offerings, taking their staple diet of 808 kick drums and tight vocal harmonies into uncharted territory. The record is a tour of extremes which sees the band experiment with frenetic drum programming, cascading synthesizers, jilted backbeats and bouncy new jack era R&B.
